For most visitors, Salento is above all a terrific seaside destination thanks to its long stretches of white sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue sea, earning it the nickname of the 'Maldives of Italy'. But Salento is much more than its coastline: venture just a little further inland to understand that it boasts some incredible treasures of art and tradition.

Situated in the vicinity of the winery are our tasting and reception rooms featuring original cross-vaulted ceilings dating back to 1676.

The various tour&tasting options offered by Masseria Altemura start from here, combining guided tours of the vineyards, the old farmhouse and the winery with both general and verticals tastings of the Estate's symbolic wines, even directly in the vineyard, accompanied by typical Apulian food pairings.

The Estate is located within the Primitivo di Manduria DOC appellation, one of the most well-suited terroirs in Italy for quality viticulture. Within a single enclosure, it houses an ancient 17th-century Farmhouse, restored with respect for the environment and the original architecture, and a contemporary winery designed in accordance with the most up-to-date principles of eco-friendly architecture. In its quest for absolute quality, the Zonin family has started a series of trials and experiments in order to achieve accurate clonal selection and evaluate the best possible relationship between the vine and the soil.Masseria Altemura has developed a systemic production model that chooses to employ local resources, pays great attention to the use of renewable energy sources and enhances both the natural environment and the community in which it lives on a daily basis.
