The Island of Agrotourism in The Middle of Spain
It is always a pleasure to get the bonus, right? In Pago De La Jaraba you will experience not only Enotourism, but also Oleotourism and Lactealtourism. These are the original offers: Oleotourism is educational interactive activity where you can get to know how olives are grown and olive oil is made whereas Lactealtourism is all about dairy products. The most intriguing part is, as always, tasting!
Pago De La Jaraba and Exceptional Status of Their Wines
The winery has always been producing the excellent quality wines. However, recently European Union introduced in Spain a new highest level in the hierarchy of the Appellation of Origin called Vino de Pago – Single Estate Wine. This level has the most strict winemaking restrictions in order to ensure the quality and preserve the terroir. Pago De La Jaraba was among the firsts to receive such respectful status.
Extensive Vineyards and Diverse Types of Soils
80 hectares of wind vineyards at the average altitude of 750 meters above sea level belong to the estate. As no surprise for continental Spain, the main grape varietal there is Tempranillo (almost 60% of the vineyard). Also you can find here Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Graciano, and Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes are planted in accordance with the most suitable soils: ancient tumbled river stones, sandy, or clai soils. The vineyard itself is surrounded by 92 hectares pine forest
