Vidiano pioneers: Since 2000, Klados has been among the first to champion the rare Cretan white grape Vidiano—branded as their signature "White Diva" for its expressive citrus, peach, and herbal aromas, and elegant, creamy texture.
Family-driven evolution: Established in 1997 by chemist‑oenologist Emmanuel Klados, today the estate is led by his son Stelios, a chemistry graduate with oenology and marketing degrees from Italy and Greece.
Modern, sustainable terroir: Since relocating in 2007 to a 700 m² facility, the winery added solar-powered operations and, by 2013, surrounded itself with organically‑cultivated Vidiano vineyards.
Klados Winery – A Taste of Crete’s Vidiano Legacy!
Founded in 1997 by chemist‑oenologist Emmanuel (Manolis) Klados, Klados Winery began as a modest 20,000‑liter annual producer in Rethymnon. From 2000, it was among the first to champion the rare Vidiano grape, bottling the island’s “White Diva”. Relocating in 2007 to a sleek, 700 m² facility in Skepasti, the winery embraced advanced production and bottling technologies. By 2012–13, Klados added photovoltaic power and surrounded the estate with an organic Vidiano vineyard, certified BIO.n 2014, the second generation took the helm: Stelios Klados, a chemistry graduate with Master’s degrees in oenology and marketing, leads the winery today. The winery has welcomed visitors since 2015, with further modernization in 2020. Now producing around 100,000 L/year, Klados Winery crafts red wines (Kotsifali, Liatiko, Cabernet Sauvignon) and whites (Vidiano, Muscat of Spina, Sauvignon Blanc), all expressive of Crete’s terroir.
