Immerse yourself in the fusion of two regions and cultures and a story that began nearly 3,000 years ago.
Located in South Tyrol, Wieserhot Winery developed the project "la traversara", that connects two areas that are sometimes underdeveloped in terms of viticulture through wine cultivation.
Wieserhof Winery, established around 30 years ago, is located in the region of Südtirol - Alto Adige in Northern Italy, surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes and meadows.
The la traversara was conceived as an idea in 2016. La traversara was an ancient trade route which connected the Upper Italy region around Lake Garda, through the Non Valley, with the present-day Burgraviato area around Merano. Now La traversara is a project aimed at uniting these two areas through wine cultivation. Wieserhof winery cultivates two small vineyards. One is located in the village of Foiana in South Tyrol, and the other is in the village of Castagnara – Masetto in the Garda region.
The two vineyards are not only united by an altitude of 600 m, which allows for the cultivation of wines with a strong character. Both vineyards differ in their basic soil and climate conditions for viticulture. This is the only way to create four distinct wines from two identical grape varieties.
