Join us on a journey to the rolling hills of Goriška Brda, Slovenia, where our family winery flourishes amidst the border of two nations, Brda and Collio. Our father, Stojan, and five brothers work in harmony to craft wines that embody the essence of our terroir. Our winemaking journey began in 1986 when we stepped out of the shadows of the social cellar and bottled our first Ščurek wine in 1989.
Over the past 35 years, we have cultivated 25 hectares of vineyards, producing over 100,000 bottles of premium wine. We grow a diverse range of grape varieties, including local specialties like Rumena Rebula (Ribolla Gialla), which accounts for 25% of our vineyards, and international favorites. Our collection comprises 22 handcrafted wines, from sparkling to still, orange to no-added-sulfur, and single vineyards to blends.
Our wines are categorized into three lines - white label, brown label, and UP line - each reflecting a different tier of quality, where the terroir, grape variety, and winemaking finesse shine through.
We believe in sustainable winemaking, where our grapes are grown organically, and our wines are vegan-friendly, free from animal products. Our wines are available both locally and globally, with 70% sold in Slovenia and the remaining 30% exported to different countries, including China, Israel, Bosnia, Serbia, and Japan. Our wines can be found in wine shops, wine bars, and Michelin-starred restaurants, where they are celebrated for their unique character, exceptional quality, and the passion of our family's winemaking tradition.
