Lipovac Winery is the largest private winery in Montenegro, located on the mountain slopes of the Skadar Lake reserve. It is difficult to imagine, but the traditions of winemaking have been preserved here since the 3rd century b.c., this is evidenced by amphoraes and jugs found during archaeological excavations and notes of ripe fruit that give an amazing juiciness.
Our vineyards extend throughout the fertile soils of the most beautiful place in Montenegro. Zagarach and Građani are the slopes near Lake Skadar which is the largest lake in the Balkans and a famous nature reserve of the country.
LIPOVAC wines are exclusive due to the fact that in addition to the traditional wine making techniques and maturation in inox and French oaks winemakers use amphorae and kvevri. This way of making wine has been known since the times of Urartu and dates back to about the 8th century B.C. Since 2011, this technique has been included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
